Steve Michaud Park

Formerly North Park, Steve Michaud Park in Lakeville is a great playground for all ages.  We stopped over on a nice evening this spring in hopes the snow was all melted and it wasn’t too wet.  We lucked out and it was a great night to play.  The playground is the older style wood playground but it’s so much more. ... Lake Rebecca Park Reserve

We haven’t explored the entire park reserve (there are many amenities there), but our tots LOVE the Big Woods Play Area (jungle gym area). Very unique playground. Woodsy-themed (log cabin and tree-house) structures. Bring a picnic and check it out when the snow melts! Como Zoo

Update from April 2014: Went back to Como on the first nice weekend of the year. I expected it to be super busy but it wasn’t too bad first thing in the morning. Unfortunately my 2 year old decided he didn’t really want to see the animals for more than 3 seconds each. I think my biggest issue with the ... Read More »

Chick-fil-A

20140313-120636.jpg

The one thing I keep hearing from people about the Chick-fil-A play area is that they clean it every day.  So I guess that makes you wonder how often they clean other restaurant play areas.  Anyway, we made it to the Bloomington restaurant after a little shopping trip in the midst of the frigid temps. Of course my toddler wouldn’t ... Read More »

Grove Cove Aquatic Center

maple-grove-pool

The pool area has a zero-depth entry with water spray features and a tot slide, which ends in a shallow area with soft padding. For older children/adults there is a rock-climbing wall, a rope swing, and a large twisty slide. The rock climbing wall and large water slide are not always open, but the small tot slide is always available. ... Read More »

Giggle Factory

20140127-085441.jpg

I usually only make it over to Hudson on weekends and have been wanting to check out the Giggle Factory but they are only open until 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays to make time for private birthday parties.  But we finally made it out this weekend (along with the rest of the town).  Actually I think the majority of the ... Hudson Burger King

20140123-091857.jpg

Okay maybe this is a cop out but things have been a little slow lately, if you haven’t noticed.  Negative 20 temperatures don’t really inspire a lot of travelling to find parks.  Though the kids could sure use some active time!  I was visiting my parents a couple weekends ago and we needed a little playtime before bed.  Not much ... Mini-hops Toddler Open Gym

20131211-081217.jpg

I’ve been wanting to check out the Toddler Open Gym at Mini-Hops for a while but the hours aren’t great for someone who works full time and lives on the other side of the cities.  But it’s the end of the year and I have to use up some vacation days so we planned a playdate with a friend and ... Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park

20140107-094812.jpg

This Plymouth Sky Zone location has a toddlers-only jump time (ages 5 and under) from 9:30-11:00 every Tuesday and Friday. Most of the facility consists of big rectangular trampolines, connected by safe padding so you can jump from one rectangle to the next. There is also a foam block pit for people to jump into. Older preschoolers will have fun ... Read More »
